​The kick-off event for the Black Student Network with Nathaniel "Nate" Ilo! Nate is the new Admissions Counselor for Diversity Initiatives at UC Santa Barbara. Nate transferred to UCSB from Norco College, where as a student leader was president of the Umoja Community.

Black History Carousel:

Selected Umoja Scholars will dress and present themselves as crucial historical African American figures who contributed to the legacy of African Americans.

African American Mental Health Panel

ZUZU African Acrobats:

Zuzu African acrobats will perform traditional movements and answer questions from the audience. They exhibit gravity-defying stunts while simultaneously displaying the beauty of the Tanzanian culture of East Africa.

​​Unbought - A Music Theatre Pie​​ce:

​Featuring the Dramatic stories of journalist and women's suffrage activist Ida B. Wells, Thomas Jefferson's slave and concubine Sally Hemings, and Shirley Chisholm, the first African American in the U.S. Congress and the first African American woman to run for president.
