Dr. Dominique Voyer was born in the south of France and received her education from the University of Paris-Sorbonne, Paris IV, with majors in French Literature and Spanish Linguistics. She earned her doctorate in Spanish Linguistics in 1992. Her research focused on literary translation and Argentine author Jorge Luis Borges.

After moving to the US in 1984, she first taught languages in high school and later became an assistant professor of Spanish at CSUSB (1992-1996). She joined RCCD first at Riverside City College (1996) and has been at Norco College since 2005. Languages and linguistics are a life-long passion that she feels privileged to share with her students.

Professor Dominique Voyer, Ph.D., teaches Spanish and French, serves on the Academic Senate, and leads several roles relating to anti-racism, equity, and inclusion at Norco College and in the Riverside Community College District. Her career in education began thirty-seven years ago and spans from teaching high school in Los Angeles, to higher education, both in France and in the United States. After a four-year appointment at California State University, San Bernardino, she joined the Riverside Community College District in 1996, first at Riverside City College, and later at Norco College, where she was Chair of the Department of Art, Humanities, and World Languages for nine years.  

Voyer profoundly believes that being an educator is an honor and a privilege, which comes with the responsibility of innate care and respect for students. Dr. Voyer is a native of France with Afro-Caribbean and Corsican ancestry. Her passion for the Spanish language came from her ancestry and from growing up in Southwest France, close to Spain. She holds a doctorate in Spanish, with a focus on Comparative Linguistics and Traductology from the University of Paris Sorbonne, France. She is the proud mother of three sons.​

​Dr. Voyer has a wonderful passion for students. She demonstrates remarkable collegiality as a leader, mentor and inspiration to colleagues in the Arts, Humanities and World Languages Department. Dr. Voyer​ provides amazing opportunities for training and support to Associate Faculty in the World Languages Program. Her students benefit from her global experience, expertise and compassion. Norco is wonderfully enhanced by Dr. Voyer's service and integrity over the past two and a half decades in the Riverside Community College District.
