Experience​​

Miriam serves as the ​director of three federally funded Upward Bound Programs. The programs service Centennial High School, Corona High School, and Norte Vista High School. Prior to working at Norco College, she devoted her knowledge and skills to the Upward Bound Program at Compton College for seven years; all while serving students from Compton, Long Beach, Lynwood and Paramount. Aside from working for TRIO programs that promote college access, Miriam has experience as a Life Skills Trainer with Foster Youth.​

Miriam has served as the Norco Representative and secretary for the Management Leadership Association. She currently serves as the Fair Share Chair for the Western Association of Opportunity in Personnel (WESTOP) Southern California Chapter. Miriam is also an active member of the League of Women Voters, Los Angeles and participates in events to promote civic engagement. ​

When she is not working, Miriam enjoys spending time with family and friends.​
