Through the assessment process, placements are generated based off high school information provided during the application process. Placements are given for English, Math and or ESL courses. Students no longer complete a test.
All students, with the exception of concurrent and dual enrolled students, receive English and math placements. To receive ESL placements, please see the English as a Second Language link found on the left side menu of this page. If you need help understanding your placements, you are encouraged to meet with a counselor or an educational advisor.
If you're a first-time college student, completing the Assessment and the Orientation steps are really important. These steps, along with meeting with an academic counselor, will clear the requirements to enroll into classes on your registration date.
Additionally, the orientation (see How to Complete the Orientation button below) will help you become familiar with Norco College’s programs, services, and academic expectations. The orientation is completed online, at your own pace and consists of pre-recorded informational videos along with a holistic student support survey. The survey gives you a chance to share your academic and personal needs, and to request further information about services and resources that can help you throughout your educational journey here at Norco College.
