Experience
Mr. DeAsis leads Enrollment Services at Norco College including Admissions & Records, Student Financial Services, Veterans Resource Center, Dual Enrollment (Concurrent Enrollment, College and Career Access Pathways, and John F. Kennedy Middle College High School), Evaluations, and other support service areas.
With over 18 years of community college experience, Mr. DeAsis was vital in forming the partnership with John F. Kennedy (JFK) Middle College High School in 2006 where he designed a seamless enrollment process and fostered relationships with local Corona-Norco Unified School District partners leading to its success today. As the largest Middle College High School in California with approximately 600 students, JFK Middle College High School has become a model program by demonstrating the successful practices of an Intrusive Counseling Model for achieving high success rates in degree completion and persistence to higher education. In 2010, Mr. DeAsis led Norco College to become a Veterans Affairs' Certifying Institution that granted veterans access to their educational benefits/GI-Bill. Serving over 350 veterans at Norco College was recognized by Military Times and Military Friendly with national ranking status and a medal as a result of exceptional services to veterans and military dependents.
From 2013 to 2015, Mr. DeAsis served as an executive board member of the California Association of Community College Registrars and Admissions Officers (CACCRAO) where he served as a regional representative to over 20 California community colleges in Region IX (Inland Empire and Desert Region) and Region X (San Diego and Imperial Counties). Mark began his community college career at Norco Campus' Admissions and Records office, under the accreditation rights of Riverside Community College, as a student employee.
As a result of his experience and being a product of the California Community College system, Mark is committed to leading service oriented programs and giving back to the community where he currently resides. In his spare time, Mark enjoys traveling, gardening (specifically cultivating plumerias), and taking care of his 80 pound English bulldog rescue.
