Experience
Ms. Launa Wilson serves as the chief executive officer for the Riverside Community College District Foundation, the not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization responsible for raising and stewarding private philanthropic support for the District's three colleges - Moreno Valley College, Norco College, and Riverside City College. Established in 1975, the RCCD Foundation facilitates philanthropy to the Colleges from individuals, corporations, and private foundations in support of priority initiatives identified by the Chancellor and College Presidents. Ms. Wilson is a seasoned fundraising professional and nonprofit leader with fifteen years of documented success building thriving major gift programs for higher education institutions.
Prior to joining the RCCD Foundation, Ms. Wilson served as Senior Director of Development for UC Riverside's College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, and as Director of Development for UNLV's Greenspun College of Urban Affairs. At both institutions, Ms. Wilson built robust fundraising programs from the ground up and contributed to the success of two major capital campaigns (Invent the Future Campaign at UNLV; Living the Promise Campaign at UC Riverside) by securing multiple 7-figure cash and estate gifts for priority initiatives. Ms. Wilson is a passionate fundraising professional with a penchant for establishing philanthropic relationships and securing major gift commitments.
Ms. Wilson is a seven-year resident of Riverside, California and is an active member of her community, volunteering and serving on boards of several local organizations, including the Downtown Area Neighborhood Alliance, the Fair Housing Council of Riverside County, and the International Relations Council. Ms. Wilson is also a master gardener, a birdwatcher, a guardian of four great dogs and a long distance runner.
