Experience
Debra Mustain serves as a Dean of Community Partnerships and Workforce Development at Norco College. Debra is responsible for Regional Strong Workforce programs focused on upward mobility for students and preparation of a skilled and educated locally-available workforce. She has extensive experience in helping create educational pipelines for students from K-12 through postsecondary education and into careers in a variety of employment sectors. She has also been responsible for developing work-based learning opportunities, including internships, experiential site tours and career workshops connecting students with employers.
Debra's 28 years of educational experience includes serving students from middle school through college in a variety of teaching, counseling and administrative leadership positions. In her most recent role, she co-led development of Alignment SBC, a collective impact initiative focused on preparing all students for success in both college and career. Debra is a Washington state native and holds a B.S. degree in Home Economics Education from Central Washington University, an M.Ed. in Guidance and Counseling from City University of Seattle and a Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from California State University San Bernardino. She is also an Irvine Foundation Research Fellow. Debra is a past member of the Ellensburg Youth Ballet and the Court Advocates for Children Boards. She served as a mentor for the Los Angeles Roadrunners, completing four of her nine marathons as a mentor/coach for new runners.
