Experience
It is with great pleasure and excitement that I announce the return of a valued member of our academic community, Dr. Carol Farrar, to Norco College. Effective today, Dr. Farrar will serve as the interim Vice President for Academic Affairs, bringing a wealth of experience, dedication to academic excellence, and a profound commitment to our students' success.
Dr. Farrar's connection to Norco College runs deep, as she spent 13 years as a beloved psychology professor before venturing into administrative roles. Serving as both interim dean of instruction and later as dean of instruction for six years, she has demonstrated outstanding leadership skills within and outside the classroom.
From 2017 to 2021, Dr. Farrar expanded her horizons at RCC, where she served as Vice President for Academic Affairs. During her tenure, she played a crucial role in advancing the dual enrollment programs: College & Career Access Pathways (CCAP), the Early College High School program, and the onsite Gateway College & Career Academy. Also, among her many accomplishments, the development of RCC's Guided Pathways stands out as a significant achievement.
As an educator and a collaborative leader, Dr. Farrar is a steadfast advocate for equity and access to higher education. She strives to create inclusive learning environments that empower our students to thrive and succeed. With her profound knowledge and passion for psychology, Dr. Farrar continued to teach this subject at RCC for the last couple of years, adding even more depth to her impressive portfolio.
Dr. Farrar's academic journey has been exceptional, with a Bachelor of Art degree in psychology and a Bachelor of Science degree in biological sciences from the University of California at Irvine. She furthered her educational pursuits, obtaining a Ph.D. in Psychology with an emphasis in neuroscience from the esteemed University of California, Riverside.
Please join me in extending a warm welcome to Dr. Carol Farrar as she rejoins the Norco College friends. I encourage you to visit her office and say hello, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie as we embark on another fruitful academic year.
