Norco College students will soon have expanded support thanks to a $600,000 grant awarded to California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (CPP), to improve transfer success for local community college students. The funds, provided by the Yuhaaviatam of the San Manuel Nation, will strengthen advising, mentoring, and pathways for students pursuing four-year degrees.

The grant is part of the Inland Empire Transfer Success Initiative; a three-year project focused on increasing the number of students who successfully transfer from regional community colleges to four-year universities. Through this initiative, Norco College students will have access to tailored guidance, summer enrichment programs, and resources designed to make the transfer process smoother and more equitable.

As part of the collaboration, Cal Poly Pomona will expand its PolyTransfer program, adding staff and counselors who will work closely with Inland Empire students. These enhancements will provide additional support for Norco College students, helping them navigate academic planning, mentoring, and transition services more effectively.

This grant reflects a regional commitment to creating seamless academic pathways, ensuring more students from Norco College and surrounding community colleges can achieve their higher education goals.
