On August 25–26, 2025, Norco College proudly participated in Target’s internal career fair at the Target Fontana Distribution Center, highlighting innovative Supply Chain Automation (SCA) courses designed to help employees advance their careers through technical education.

Norco College's Career and Technical Education (CTE) was invited to host a booth to promote upskilling opportunities aligned with Target’s Maintenance Technician Training (MTT) program. The event marked a milestone between Norco College and industry leaders committed to workforce development.

During the two-day outreach, CTE college representatives spotlighted three key courses:

  • SCA-01: Introduction to Automated Warehousing, which includes an industry-recognized certification from the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC) in Equipment Maintenance.
  • SCA-12: Introduction to Automated Networking, which offers certification in MSSC CT-SCA: Network Repair.
  • SCA-10: Industrial Automation 1, which provides certification in MSSC CT-SCA: Equipment Repair.

These courses are designed to equip Target employees with practical, industry-relevant skills that not only enhance performance in their current roles but also create pathways for promotion, specialized technical positions, and long-term career growth in the rapidly evolving supply chain and automation sectors.

“Upskilling incumbent workers is a critical strategy in today’s world of work,” said a Norco College spokesperson. “By building programs that directly meet employer needs, we’re providing career advancement opportunities for individuals while strengthening the region’s economy.”

The impact of Norco College’s presence at the career fair was immediate. Enrollment in SCA-01 reached 31 students, while SCA-12—offered for the first time in two years due to previously low enrollment—secured 24 students, reflecting renewed interest and demand. The college is now building on this momentum with outreach for spring 2026 enrollment in SCA-10: Industrial Automation.

Norco College continues to strengthen its reputation within the Inland Empire Desert Region Consortium as a leader in responsive, industry-aligned curriculum. Through partnerships with companies like Target, the college is helping to shape the future of career and technical education while opening doors for working adults to pursue high-demand, high-wage careers.
