Mustang of the Month - September 2026

Eric Betancourt, Veteran Services Coordinator, is recognized as September’s Mustang of the Month for his exemplary service, dedication to student veterans, and unwavering commitment to student success at Norco College.

As Veterans Services Coordinator, he works tirelessly to support veterans and their dependents, recognizing that each student brings a unique story, set of experiences, and needs. His genuine passion for serving the veteran community is evident in the care and attention he provides to students from all walks of life, including combat veterans, retired service members, and those who have completed their military service.

Through his work in the Veterans Resource Center, he connects students with critical financial opportunities and essential resources while fostering a welcoming environment where veterans feel supported, valued, and empowered. More than providing resources, he helps students see that success in higher education is possible and achievable.

During the past term alone, he certified approximately 500 veterans and dependents, demonstrating the tremendous scope of his work and commitment to ensuring students receive the support they need. Much of this work happens behind the scenes, but its impact is felt directly by the students he serves.

His dedication, compassion, and service to the veteran community exemplify the Mustang spirit. His work strengthens the Veterans Resource Center as a place where students can find support, connection, and hope as they pursue their educational goals.
