Experience
Dr. Ariel Davis became the Director of College Corps at Norco College in November 2024. She comes to us from the San Bernardino Community College District where she successfully managed two College Corps programs and established herself as a regional and state leader. She finished her doctorate in Educational Leadership at Fresno State University in 2022.
Last month, she was honored with the regional collaboration award from Growing Inland Achievement (pictured below with the California State Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Tony Thurmond). This summer, Ariel was invited to share in a proclamation from San Bernardino Mayor, Helen Tran, honoring the Parks & Recreation Department and all of the volunteer collaborations within the city.
Ariel is originally from Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana (outside of New Orleans). Growing up, both of her parents were in the United States Marine Corps, so she lived in various states. However, Dr. Davis has settled down and is currently residing in the Colton/Grand Terrace area.
She is a champion for first-generation college students, as she is one herself. Much of her work and research have been centered around exploring the intersectionality of various identities and how that impacts the student in college, as well as in life. She shares, "I love 'cross-pollinating' with programming like PUENTE, Umoja, Rising Scholars, and disability services." We are excited to see the cross-pollination that will take place here at Norco College with Dr. Davis overseeing College Corps. She can temporarily be found in STEM 103 and reached via email at Send Email.
