School of Human & Public Services

The Norco College School of Human & Public Services offers a number of certificate pattern programs. Certificate programs, leading to an associate of science degree require a minimum of 18 units (6 classes or so).
 

Certificates can be completed within one and a half to two years and lead to employment! Each course required for the certificate must be completed with a "C" grade or better and all can be counted toward the degree as well as the major.

Mission Statement

The Administration of Justice and Early Childhood Education programs are part of the School of Human & Public Services and, as such, have developed the following mission statement: 
 
“The School of Human & Public Services Programs are designed to increase the capabilities of our diverse community through empowering students in developing technical skills, analytical abilities, critical thinking, and global mindset. Our efforts are to develop local and regional competitiveness for businesses by preparing students and expanding the skills of life-long learners. Our mission is to provide an equitable learning environment and offer a curriculum from which Human & Public Services students develop the relevant skills necessary for academic and professional success."

Spring 2025 Student Spotlight Valeri Arredondo

Valeri Arredondo has endured through many challenges and life lessons refusing to become a statistic. Once she had provided for her children, she focused on herself deciding to go back to college and has overcome her challenges. She currently maintains an A average in her classes.

Fall 2024 Student Spotlight Caitlin Robertson

Caitlin Robertson was selected as the Student Spotlight in the School of Human & Public Services. Caitlin undergone a series of significant brain surgeries and even with some physical limitations as a result, she has never allowed it to slow her down and keep her from completing her work. She never complains, but instead remains upbeat, optimistic, and a role model to others always looking at what can be done. rather than what cannot.
