As the California Rehabilitation Center (CRC) prepares to close and Norco College’s educational programming at the facility comes to an end, staff ensured incarcerated students are supported in their next chapter.

This past week, the Rising Scholars team assembled and delivered more than 600 farewell packets to every student in the program. Each packet included a personalized letter of encouragement from program staff, a Norco College pennant, a directory of state prisons with details on college programs available inside, both official and unofficial transcripts, and contact information for the Norco College Rising Scholars program. Recent graduates also received personal and group photographs from the 2025 CRC commencement ceremony.

The team project was a true collaborative effort. “Big shout-out to Admissions and Records,” the team noted, recognizing the department’s pivotal role in this project.

“These packets symbolize our belief in our students’ potential beyond CRC,” the team added. “They are a reminder of hard-earned achievements and a guide for the opportunities ahead.”
