The Carnival Financial Aid Fair was a vibrant and impactful event designed to welcome and engage both current and prospective students, along with our broader community. The fair brought together approximately 546 attendees, including local high school students, Norco College students, and community members, making it one of the most successful outreach efforts of the semester in Financial Aid.

This year’s event was truly a collaborative effort across campus. A total of 13 departments, clubs, and programs hosted tables, including but not limited to EOPS, NC Corral, Umoja, Men of Color, College Corps, and Veterans Services. Each group played a key role in ensuring students not only received financial aid guidance but also learned about the wide range of support resources available to help them succeed academically and personally.

The Financial Aid team provided on-the-spot assistance with FAFSA and CADAA applications, resolved missing documentation issues, and answered questions that often create barriers to accessing aid. At the same time, our partners at the various tables connected students with programs that could directly support their financial stability, sense of belonging, and academic journey.

Beyond its informational purpose, the event was designed to be welcoming, festive, and student-centered. With a carnival theme, attendees enjoyed food, games, inflatables, and obstacle courses, creating an environment where students felt comfortable engaging with staff and asking questions. Adding to the festive atmosphere, three talented Norco College music students performed live, energizing the crowd and showcasing Mustang talent.

Hosted mid-day from 11:30 am–2 pm on Sept. 10, 2025, the fair intentionally met students “on their turf” during a busy point in the semester. The mix of practical support and fun activities encouraged participation and highlighted Norco College’s commitment to both student success and community connection.

Ultimately, the Carnival Financial Aid Fair not only helped hundreds of students take concrete steps toward securing financial aid but also strengthened awareness of the holistic resources Norco College provides. By combining financial readiness, resource awareness, live performances, and community engagement, the fair reflected Norco College’s ongoing mission to break down barriers and create opportunities for all who seek higher education.
