The Norco College Women's Soccer team made history Friday night, delivering a defining moment for Mustang Athletics and the Inland Empire soccer scene. In a stunning 2–1 victory, the Mustangs not only defeated the powerhouse Chaffey College Panthers, but they also ended Chaffey's remarkable five-year unbeaten run in conference play.

In the last match-up, the Panthers handed Norco a 6–0 loss. This time, the Mustangs flipped the script and wrote their own chapter of dominance. Under the inspired leadership of Head Coach Francesca Escobedo, in her inaugural season, Norco showcased a new era of confidence, cohesion, and competitive fire that electrified the home crowd.

The breakthrough came in the 55th minute, when Esmie Bustamante struck a penalty kick goal to put the Mustangs ahead. Chaffey answered back with pressure, but the Norco defense held firm with disciplined communication and relentless effort. Then, in the 83rd minute, Savannah Echeverria sealed the match with a composed finish off a perfect assist from Giselle Fierro, igniting celebrations across the field and stands.

"This win means everything," said Coach Francesca. "We respected what Chaffey has accomplished over the years; they've set the bar high. But tonight, our women showed what belief, teamwork, and preparation can achieve. Ending a five-year conference streak is something special, and it's just the beginning for this program."

With this historic victory, the Norco College Women's Soccer team proved they are embodying the resilience and determination that define Mustang Athletics. The win marks not just a game, but a turning point, one that signals a new era for Norco Women's Soccer and a bright future ahead.
