Anthropology is the study of human societies and cultures and their development. Anthropology studies both past and present societies.

Career Options


Career options for students who get a degree in anthropology include: criminology, development studies, journalism, and marketing. Anthropology students gain special understanding of human relations and expertise for jobs involving international or cross-cultural work, and social and ethnic diversity. Anthropologists are qualified to suggest, plan and implement policies affecting people, and identify needs for change.​

​​Zachariah plans to major in psychology and minor in Anthropology, a field he was intrigued by after taking a class from Professor Alexis Gray.

“Her teaching style is very encouraging, very interesting, and something I really got attached to,” Zachariah said.​
