Men of Color (MoC) Scholars

“The Men of Color (MoC) Scholars Program is outraged and profoundly saddened by not just the recent events, but by the marginalization of African American and LatinX students through institutionalized racism or unconscious bias for far too long in our history. As the Men of Color Counselor and Coordinator, I want to let you know that our MoC Scholars Program and Norco College see you, we hear you and we value you.  We will promote the highest level of dignity and respect for the entire RCCD community as we stand united and steadfast in promoting race conscious solutions.”

Our goal is to build community and brotherhood with you as we reach your goals.

We want you to feel connected to Norco College.

We belong here. You belong here.

The Men of Color (MoC) Scholars program is designed to support our Men of Color students from the time they apply until the time they graduate or transfer to a four-year university. We enhance the transition from high school with an interactive summer orientation, and continue building on important skills and resources needed to succeed in their college and career.  Men of Color Scholars will have access to a dedicated student center, and a supportive community of faculty, staff, and peers.  First time college students will be offered free tuition during their first-year.

Students in the program enroll in the same English and Guidance courses together to help foster relationships with faculty and peers in a supportive academic learning community. The curriculum and program activities are focused on culturally relevant issues that pertain to the experiences and success of Men of Color in higher education, particularly for Latino and Black/African-American students.
