Kaneesha Tarrant Ed.D.
Interim Vice President, Student Services
Prior to LA Trade-Tech, Tarrant served as the dean of Counseling and Student Support Services at Long Beach City College. Prior to LBCC, she held several dean positions in outreach and relations, student services, and outreach and recruitment. She also served as an adjunct assistant professor at USC for twelve years. Tarrant earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Boston University, and her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern California.
Tenisha James, Ed.D.
Dean, Student Services
Dr. James has a long history in education and in serving low-income students of color in the k-12 to college pipeline. She began her career in Los Angeles Unified School District as the Lead College Counselor at two large, urban public high schools, both located in South Central Los Angeles before making the transition to higher education approximately 10 years ago. James earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Irvine, her master’s degree from California State University Dominguez Hills, and her Ed.D. in Education Leadership, Administration and Policy from Pepperdine University.
