Journalism is the activity of gathering, assessing, creating, and presenting news and information. It is also the product of these activities. Journalism can be distinguished from other activities and products by certain identifiable characteristics and practices.

A degree in journalism can lead to a career as an editor, broadcast journalist, foreign correspondent, announcer, writer, newspaper reporter, blogger and social media manager. Fine & Applied Arts not only prepares students to work in arts-related fields, but also fosters the skills necessary in any profession involving visual culture in its broadest sense, historical and cultural understanding, critical analysis, persuasive argumentation, thorough research, and effective writing.
