​The LGBTQ+ Advocates committee supports, defends​ and serves as an advocate for lgbtq+ students, faculty, and staff. This committee is responsible for making recommendations on academics, supportive measures, and training related to intersectionality (sexual orientation, gender identity, sex, race, ethnicity, etc.), lgbtq+ campus climate, student success, and retention. Members of the committee also serve as points of contact on lgbtq+ issues​​​.​

Meeting Schedule

Meetings held during college hour on the second Tuesday of the month from 12:50 pm - 1:50 pm during the Fall and Spring semesters in IT 210​.  On months wherein no second Tuesday is possible, the meeting will be held on the 4th Tuesday of that given month.

LGBTQ+ Courses

​This coming Academic Year.......


Fall 2024​

​​Eng 1A: 
This course will be split into 4 Units exploring 1) gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation(s); 2) LGBTQ+ life, culture, and experiences; 3) challenges that the LGBTQ+ community faces; and 4) the power, and need, for advocacy.

Readings will be centered entirely around the LGBTQ+ community as will the assignments.

This course is specially designed for those who are members of the LGBTQ+ community, ALLYs to the LGBTQ+ community, supporters of the LGBTQ+ community, and those interested in learning more about the LGBTQ+ community.
