Candidate Statement: Hi fellow Mustang students and friends! I'm Aneesa and I currently serve as your Vice President of Finance for the academic year. In this role, I've been managing a budget of over $800,000 while also completing financial documents on a weekly basis, with the help from my team of 5 students. Given this role, I've learned how to become a leader by continuously delegating tasks while also ensuring the well-being of my team. Even with the weekly budget reports I send to all ASNC members, I've had to develop strong writing and communication skills so that it leaves no room for confusion. I've also developed a strong connection to this campus after regularly helping with and participating in ASNC-hosted events and by also being on-campus more often. Essentially, I've been able to prove to myself and hopefully to the student body that even with the rigorous workload of both my personal and academic life, I'm capable of completing ASNC assignments on time and devoting proper attention to them. Because of my continuous involvement and the skillset, I've gained as a result, I believe I'm qualified to be president and to efficiently execute its tasks. As for change to our community, I hope for a more lively, fun, and interactive environment where everyone can be welcoming and friendly towards each other. One way I know this can be accomplished is through more inclusive events since it will result in recognition towards different kinds of students. Thank you for your time!

My main goal is to empower every student to feel heard and valued while providing the support and resources to help them thrive. I am proud to say that I have already been an active member of the Norco College community, having served as a Senator of Campus Organizations for a semester. During my time in this role, I worked closely with my fellow students to help them achieve their goals and make a positive impact on our campus. I truly believe that a successful student body is the cornerstone of a successful college, and I am eager to be a part of the many solutions that will contribute to that success. Candidate Statement: Today I present myself to you, my fellow peers, with the hopes that you recognize me not just as a candidate, but as your future voice. I am nothing more than a student here at Norco College, I am down to earth, and chances are I have walked right past you with my dirty shoes and calloused hands. I have worked hard in involving myself in as much student life as possible. As a student, I have spent the last year striving to meet as many of our clubs, students, and faculty here on campus all with the intent to do right by them. I have had the privilege to serve our beautiful campus here at Basic Needs and Wellness and at many of our clubs, all to better our community. I now ask that you consider me a qualified voice to represent you. I am proud to be called a Norco College student and honored to call each and every one of you reading this my colleagues and friends. And for those I have yet to meet, I can only express my excitement to meet every one of you and your needs. I run for this position to further represent those around me who feel underrepresented, those who want a better tomorrow, and those who want a down-to-earth student in ASNC who listens. So today I not only ask for your vote as I run for Vice President of Campus Organizations, but for your trust as well, thank you!

Marketing Major
dvaldez51@student.rccd.edu

Candidate Statement: Hello everyone, my name is Desiree and I am running for Vice President of Finance. As a student, I'm aware of the mandatory college fees that we are required to pay— one including our student services fees. Many of us may not fully understand what these fees are, but they actually make up our Student Government budget, which is responsible for funding various campus events and supporting clubs and organizations.

During my first year here, I've made it my goal to connect with as many people as I can to understand their passions and interests around campus, and to see firsthand how vital these student services fees are to them if managed properly. I am involved in ASNC, Art Club, and the Equity Center— which further deepened my understanding of how important these fees are. Additionally, attending Senate meetings and watching students or faculty passionately pitch their ideas for events and services that require funding or discussing really further motivated me to become an important part of helping fellow students pursue organizations and projects that are bigger than themselves.

If elected, I would ensure that the budget is properly managed, and the fees are allocated appropriately. My financial accounting abilities, and my passion to sympathize with student organizations, will help me make informed decisions and ensure that our funds will be used to support everyone within our student body.  Thank you for your time.

Kinesiology Major
bsanchez93@student.rccd.edu

Candidate Statement: My name is Brittney Sanchez. I am 38 years young (almost 39). I am a mom of a 17 year-old daughter, office manager, student, fitness enthusiast, and dream chaser. I am majoring in Kinesiology. I started my college journey just before the pandemic. I initially began as a business major but changed my focus after the pandemic. I will be transferring to CSF in mid-late 2024 to obtain both my undergraduate degree and master's. Once I complete my education, I plan to enter the world of teaching on the community college level and open a personal training facility with special programs for women with PTSD, anxiety, depression, new mom blues, etc.
I sit currently as the President of NC's Kinesiology Student Association. It has been a gratifying experience, and I have learned so much. I genuinely enjoy working with my classmates in a club setting. I also was just awarded Norco College's 2023 Student of Distinction award. I am still in disbelief, but I am honored to have received such recognition.
With a background in office management, real estate, and coaching, I plan to apply those skills and knowledge to the Vice President of Campus Relations position. I can bring value to the ASNC team with my leadership skills, team player mentality, open-mindedness, life experience, ability to multi-task, and outgoing personality.
