Greetings Mustang Partners and Supporters!

Norco College is wrapping up summer and preparing for fall semester, which begins on August 22nd. I am looking forward to repopulating our college campus and seeing the blessing that a quality education brings to students of all ages. If you are considering coming back to school, or taking a class to enhance your current skills, now is the perfect time to engage. As always, I encourage you to see what is going on at your community's college. Come as you are and know we have something for everyone.

With this said, I do understand health concerns over the recent coronavirus spike. I want to assure our community that Norco College places the health of our students and employees at the forefront. We aim for all Mustangs to have a safe space to learn and grow. We will also continue offering in-person, online, and hybrid courses to accommodate different learning modalities and needs.

I am confident that with your continued partnership and support, Norco College will shine bright this fall.  Mustangs get ready for an amazing ride and enjoy the August issue of the President's Newsletter.

I look forward to a great month.

Ps, visit norcocollege.edu to learn more on how you can get involved.

Best,

Monica L. Green, Ed.D.

MUSTANG SPOTLIGHTS

For Jasmine attending Norco College was “the best pathway for me.” She highlighted that, “There’s a lot of stigmas around community college, but for my family it’s another source for quality education.” For Jasmine Norco College was a vital resource and a great education that more students should take advantage of.

Attending college through a pandemic was not ideal for most students, including Jasmine. She was not sure how to transition to online study or apply for transfer. Professors went the extra mile to assist Jasmine step-by-step and guided her through the process. Jasmine would like to encourage all students to get involved with the many wonderful things the campus offers and to break out of your shell. She states, “Norco College prepared me with an invaluable experience, genuine quality time with professors, and helped me with self-discovery.” Jasmine is on the path to being a renowned psychologist in California and was able to save on 2-years of college, entering her current academic institution at the Junior level.

Congratulation Jasmine Vasquez, Alumni and Future Psychologist

Norco College celebrates employees who make a difference in the Mustang community.

We are pleased to announce the Mustang of the Month for July was Miguel Castro! Miguel was nominated for his role in tirelessly communicating and coordinating with students requesting laptops, hotspots, and textbooks through the Library's Laptop, Hotspot and Textbook loan programs.   These programs have served to enhance equity by providing students access to critical resources that have helped them to be successful in their classes and stay in school throughout the pandemic.   Miguel has gone above and beyond to make sure students were able to pick up and/or return technology and learning materials curbside with the utmost professionalism, courtesy, expertise, and care.

Please join Norco College in congratulating Miguel. It is well-deserved!
