Experience

Ms. Becerra brings with her nearly two decades of experience in community colleges. Her background primarily revolves around student services, leadership development, and counseling for college and career pathways. For the past five years, she served as the Director of Academic Talent Search at Santa Ana College, managing a federal TRiO grant and providing pre-college services to approximately 800 students (grades 7-12) for Santa Ana Unified School District.

Before this, she held the position of Career Pathways Manager at Long Beach City College, where she oversaw grant-funded programs supporting career pathways, particularly in Allied Health programs. Additionally, she managed the Career Center, organizing work-based learning opportunities, career exploration activities, job placements, and internships for students from both Long Beach Unified School District and Long Beach City College.

Ms. Becerra's expertise extends to student conduct and leadership development. She served as the Associate Dean of Student Development at Santa Ana College for two years and as the Director of Student Conduct and Student Life at Long Beach City College for four years. In these roles, she was responsible for various administrative duties, including overseeing the Office of Student Life, Student Conduct, Commencement, Associated Student Government, student clubs and organizations, and the College Information Desk.​
