Non-English speakers are required to take the Proficiency Test in English as a Second Language (PTESL). The test is designed to measure your knowledge of the English language and readiness to take college-level classes.
The 100-question test includes: 5 background questions; 20 listening questions, and 75 grammar and reading comprehension questions. It takes about 1½ hours to complete.
Please use the Norco College online appointment system to make your PTESL session appointment. Check the Testing Calendar and then make your online appointment and attend the PTESL orientation if you are a first-time college students.
If the PTESL test was recommended after you took the Accuplacer Online assessment test, you can make a PTESL appointment just about any time.
