Construction Technology

Construction technology is a professional discipline that deals with the designing, planning, construction, and management of infrastructures such as roads, tunnels, bridges, airports, railroads, facilities, buildings, dams, utilities and other projects.

The Construction Technology program at Norco College will teach you how to plan, organize, solve problems and communicate well in your building projects. The program is a combination of civil engineering and construction management. It will enable you to pursue a career as a construction manager, inspector, cost estimator or engineering manager.

Listed below are programs of study offered by Norco College and requirements for specific certificates and degrees. Students are encouraged to meet with a counselor for individual education planning.

Any request for a course substitution or waiver may be discussed with a counselor and must be submitted for approval to the Admissions and Records Office.

3D Mechanical Drafting includes courses intended to help students qualify for an entry level CAD operator/drafter or help someone already in industry to update their skills.
Architectural Graphics Architectural Graphics
9 UNIT CERTIFICATE
The ARCHITECTURAL GRAPHICS certificate program is designed for students whose goal is to obtain an entry-level position in the field of architecture.

30 UNIT CERTIFICATE - 60 UNIT ASSOCIATE DEGREE
The CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY program prepares individuals with the technical knowledge and skills in the area of building construction. This includes instruction on blueprint reading, materials, International Building Codes & Ordinances, plumbing, electrical and mechanical codes and energy conservation. Management and inspection skills are also examined.

24-26 UNIT CERTIFICATE - 60 UNIT ASSOCIATE DEGREE
Behind every product, building, or process are drawings and models created by someone using the techniques and principles taught in drafting courses. If you enroll in the DRAFTING TECHNOLOGY certificate courses, you’ll learn the math and drawing techniques you’ll need to represent three-dimensional buildings and objects.

9 UNIT CERTIFICATE
The ENGINEERING GRAPHICS certificate readies students for an entry-level position in drafting or related industries. Students successfully completing this certificate will be proficient in mechanical drafting and two-dimensional AutoCAD.
