Program Review is part of RCCD’s overall planning and institutional effectiveness process. It is a cyclical, collaborative goal-setting and assessment process designed to assist faculty, staff, and administrators across the campuses with improving and refining college services. Disciplines, departments, and interdisciplinary programs (hereafter referred to as “units” or “instructional units”) participate in Program Review self-study is part of a process that results in a comprehensive assessment of institutional effectiveness. The District Program Review Committee, the Curriculum Committee, the Office of Academic Affairs, the Campus and District Strategic Planning Committees and Department Chairs in preparation for budgeting requests and preparation of the Academic Master Plan, and in some cases the Board of Trustees, will review the self-studies and use information from approved studies to inform resource allocation decisions. The linkage between program review and strategic planning is now fully operational. Thus, resource allocations and planning for each discipline will be directly impacted by this plan.
