The REAL ESTATE certificate prepares students to understand and perform effectively in the California real estate industry and to successfully prepare for the California Real Estate license exam.

Fundamental course covering basic laws and principles of California real estate
• RLE-81 Real Estate Practices (3 units)
Fundamentals of CA real estate practice, terminology and daily operations of a brokerage
• RLE-82 Legal Aspects of Real Estate (3 units)
California real estate law
• RLE-83 Real Estate Finance (3units)
Analysis of financing, lending policies and problems in residential, commercial, apartment and etc.
• RLE-85 Real Estate Economics (3 units)
Trends and factors affecting the values of real estate
• RLE-86 Escrow Procedures (3 units)
Methods and techniques of escrow procedures
• RLE-200 Work Experience (1-4 units)
• RLE 80, 81 and any additional class from above (except RLE-200) are preparation for and applied to educational requirements for DRE sales person licensing

Learning Outcomes

In addition to the core learning outcomes below, students should be able to accomplish the following:
• Demonstrate the ability to analyze ethical and procedural problems that arise in residential real estate sales transactions from the prospective of buyers, sellers, brokers, appraisers, lenders and escrow officers
• Discuss and evaluate real estate marketing and sales techniques
• Discuss and calculate real estate taxes and solve basic real estate mathematics problems
• Explain and evaluate methods of financing real estate purchases and securing loans with real estate
• Demonstrate the ability to analyze the factors that affect real estate values
• Discuss and evaluate real estate markets and trends

Use technology to analyze business decisions and enhance communication
• Apply basic business and accounting calculations and analysis
• Understanding of legal practices relating to business
• Apply sound management practices
